Helen Hughes JOHNSON, 83, of Oxford and a former resident of Henderson, died Monday, August 22, 2011. Born in Vance County on February 10, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Scott Hughes and Lizzie Mae Jarrell Hughes. A memorial service was held Friday at Tabbs Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters; one son; three brothers; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry T. Johnson; one daughter, Jerry Mae Johnson; and one grandson.
